| Dear
Gallery Friends, We send you joyful New Year greetings from Galleria Silecchia in Sarasota, FL, USA. We invite you to view our website by clicking on the images and links below. We have wonderful news to share.
Glenna Goodacre's epic sculpture, The Irish Memorial, has been completed and is in Philadelphia ready to be installed and dedicated during Summer 2003. Glenna will be here in Sarasota in early February for a major gallery exhibition called "Inspirations" featuring more than 40 busts and figures from this magnificent sculpture.
This profound exhibition opens to the public on Friday, February 7th and continues through March 31st. Glenna will be in our gallery on Friday evening from 6-8:30pm during Palm Avenue's First Friday Walk. A preview of the "Inspirations Exhibit Catalog" can be viewed by clicking here. View other bronze works by Glenna Goodacre.
On Sunday, February 9th, from 2-3pm, Glenna will participate in the dedication of "Olympic Wannabes" at Selby Five Points in downtown Sarasota, Florida . This exuberant sculpture was generously donated to the City of Sarasota by residents and friends of our beautiful community. Performance entertainment will be provided by The Florida West Coast Symphony Youth Chamber Ensemble, The Booker Middle School Jazz Band and The Sarasota Ballet Next Generation dancers. We hope you will join us.
At the request of his collectors and admirers, Hiroshi Yamano has created the most beautiful miniature glass works from his East to West Series. These stunning pieces measure only 4"- 9" in height and, in his masterful style, weave together rich brocades of gold, silver and copper foils creating an interplay of transparency and translucency. We were delighted to have
a surprise visit from Flo
Perkins in
December. Her work continues to reflect in-depth investigations of the
relationship between blown glass
and botanical forms. You can click through to our website to see more
of Flo's unique glass, bronze and metal works and we hope you will come
by the gallery and enjoy her botanical glass creations. We look forward
to welcoming her back to Sarasota this spring.
William Berra will be joining us for Palm Avenue's First Friday Art Walk on Friday, March 7th from 6-9pm. We are currently exhibiting his landscape oils of Positano and the Amalfi Coast. His gentle works on linen give an impression of realism and a feeling of fresh air. View more works by William Berra
